It’s that time of year again. The weather is warm, the water is cool, and the Lord is good (ok, that one is true any time of year). It’s time for baptisms.
On Sunday, August 16, the Life’s Journey family will meet at Castle Rock Lake in Colstrip soon after the morning service. We’ll gather at the lake, eat a potluck lunch, and then rejoice as new Christians (and maybe some old) walk into the water to partipate in water baptism just as Jesus did and as Jesus told us to do.
Baptism doesn’t get someone into heaven, it doesn’t make a person morally perfect, nor does it save a person from sin. Rather, baptism is the public example that Jesus has become your personal Savior and Lord and you desire to follow him the rest of your life in humble obedience. Jesus saves and baptism is one of the first ways we show that he is our Lord.
Come celebrate new life on Sunday, August 16, down at the lake.
