August 7, 2016 – Talking with the Father

Preached by Chris Tweedy (01:02)

The first students of Jesus asked him how they should pray.  What an odd question for men who grew up learning how to pray to the God of their ancestors.  One of the most famous prayers in the western world, Jesus taught his disciples a prayer that has come to be known as the Lord’s Prayer. Jesus didn’t intend this to be the only way to pray, but he provided important insight into our conversations with God.  When you pray, consider how Jesus taught his first disciples to pray.  Like Jesus, in your prayers: praise God, seek what God wants, ask for what you need, receive and give forgiveness, request guidance, and accept protection.
