Sending the Joy of Christmas

OCCDuring the next two weeks, Life’s Journey will offer shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child.  This is a wonderful  opportunity to partner with churches all over the world to prepare shoe boxes filled with gifts for Christmas.

Every  Christmas, hundreds of thousands of gift-filled shoe boxes are sent to Samaritan Purse distribution centers which are then delivered around the globe to various children outreach programs.  Each box provides a way for children to celebrate the joys of Christmas and most importantly to learn that Jesus Christ loves them.

Get your shoe box at Life’s Journey, fill them with gifts, and return them to Life’s Journey on or before Sunday November 19.

God Created the World…He really did

On Sunday, May 7, LJCF will welcome Robert Canen from the Glendive Dinosaur & Fossil Museum.  Located just off I-94 in Glendive with a massive T-Rex head bursting out of the front entrance, the museum is the second largest fossil museum in Montana and has been advertised as the “Largest dinosaur & fossil museum in the context of Biblical history”.

Mr Canen will speak on the topic of Creation and the Bible on Sunday morning.  He will also provide information on the museum and how to visit and what to expect.

Everyone is welcome to attend this special presentation at LJCF during the Sunday morning service.  The Sunday morning service begins at 10:30 AM with singing and worship followed by the special presentation.

Plan a visit to the Glendive Dinosaur & Fossil Museum.  Go to for more information.

Taking Gospel work to Florida

Jesus told his disciples to go throughout Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and all of the world telling anybody about Jesus (see Acts 1:7-8). Christian mission trips are journeys with the specific purpose of telling a certain group of people about Jesus and even showing that group of people the love of Jesus through acts of mercy and help. American Churches often talk about foreign mission trips; to countries in the third world or ones suffering from great poverty or political persecution. Yet, more local mission trips are also of great Kingdom significance. On some missions, we go into “the ends of the earth”. Other times, we go into our own Jersusalem, Judea and Samaria; areas that are a part of our familiar culture.

On June 4-9, the LJCF Youth group will travel to Florida for a in-country mission trip. Grades 8th through 12th are invited. The cost per person will be approximately $1,000.00 and the youth group will be fundraising over the next few months. Pray for them and seek ways you can support those who are going.

You: an Ordinary Hero

Life’s Journey partners with an amazing organization based in Ethiopia, Africa.

From the website, “Talita Rise Up is located in the Southern part of Ethiopia in a town called Yirgalem. It is home to some 30,000-40,000 residents, many of whom are HIV positive. Despite the governments provision of the meds to combat HIV, many are unable to obtain effective treatment due to their extreme poverty and lack of the required nutrition to tolerate the medications.

Talita Rise Up is the only ministry of it’s kind in the area and houses approximately 15 children. A majority of these children were abandoned as young as a few days old. Talita has a Saturday feeding program where more than 100 children come to eat, play, and hear a Bible teaching. In addition, Talita Rise Up has a sponsorship program in which the most vulnerable families in the area are able to get their most basic needs met. Lives continue to be changed through this God-ordained partnership.”

This is the gospel news in action.  Life’s Journey is a financial partner with Talita Rise Up.  If you’ve been praying or seeking a mission to partner with, consider supporting Talita Rise Up.

Fall Festival – October 9, 2016

Join us on Sunday, October 9 for Faith, Fun and Food!  LJCF is hosting our annual Fall Festival community celebration at Colstrip High School.

We love this time of year and this event. We get to invite our friends and co-workers to come see what LJCF is about. We’ll have information about different activities we offer through out the year and most importantly, we get to show you what Jesus means to us.

The event is hosted at the Colstrip High School to offer a little more comfortable ground in case you haven’t been in a church for a long time or ever. You can expect to hear some modern sounding songs as we worship God and you can expect a 30-40 minute presentation about the love and goodness of God from our lead pastor, Rod Benner.

Come as you are, just as Jesus preferred it (no suit and tie required).

Plus, if you have kids – or you are a grown up kid – hang around afterwards for some fun games and activates. And a lunch on us.

At LJCF, we’re all about gathering people who love God and love Jesus in a relational and real environment. Life is real and church should be too.
