March 10, 2019: Faith Has Courage

Presented by Casey Kluver (00:50)

Do you believe in God or just say you believe in God?  Does your faith contain the courage needed for follow through?

The story of Prince Jonathan provides an incredible insight into faithful courage.  During a war between Israel and the Philistines, Jonathan approaches the Philistine camp out-numbered, out-gunned, and out-positioned.  He and his one armor bearer had one sword between the two of them, they had to climb a rocky cliff in daylight and the enemy was watching them as they climbed!  But then, once Jonathan reached the top, twenty of the enemy warriors fell before him and sent the rest of the army into a panic.

Jonathan’s and his armor bearer’s courage did not come from their might, their strategy, or their past experience in battle.  It came from them knowing that God is for them.  God had already promised victory to the Israelite army but Jonathan was the only one who believed it.  Jonathan’s faith inspired the armor bearer and their courageous action inspired the rest of the army.

Listen as Casey reminds you that faith has all the courage you need to follow God wherever he leads you.

February 24, 2019: A King Chasing Donkeys

Presented by Casey Kluver (00:51)

One day, long ago, a man named Saul was out cashing after donkeys that went missing from his father’s herd.  During the hunt, Saul came across the prophet Samuel and Samuel gave him a message that would change his life forever.  Saul was to be the first king of Israel!

Understandably, Saul was hesitant to fully accept the job.  He was from the smallest, weakest tribe of Israel.  How could he be king?  Yet God made an amazing promise to Saul; God told him that anything he did as king would be successful.  God was fully behind Saul and wanted Saul to stay fully behind him.

Yet, Saul didn’t fully believe that God was with him.  Instead of moving forward in humble confidence he retreated in doubtful fear.

As a Christian, God has set you apart as a “chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession” (1 Peter 2:9).  Do you act like that?  Are you more comfortable doing what you used to do before becoming a friend of Jesus?

Listen as Casey encourages that you can trust God when he calls you to join him in life’s journey.
